Empty Bridge, Busy Street
Another single digit evening outing. The pedestrian bridge is not too far from a busy street and an Interstate. I was trying to show the contrast between the unlit bridge and the colorfully lit establishments surrounding it.
Get and Go Make a Photo
It's only a gas station but it has a nice background for a moment. People driving by probably thought I was nuts taking photos of a gas station. I thought about it for a moment and decided that what they thought about me doesn't matter. I was on my way back from a good walk. The sky was too beautiful not to share.
Minnesota Avenue and 8th Street
I was chasing the sunset and took a chance at a parking structure I had never been before. I used the opportunity to make photos of the early evening traffic while taking the advantage of the twilight.
Downtown and 8th Street
I went out and hunted for photos. The struggle was either go to a location I am already familiar with and produced similar photos than the ones I have done or picked a new location and might end up with no photos. I do like to explore, but I also like to make good photos. Time, in terms of light availability, was also a limiting factor. It is part of the adventure in making photos.
Streak of Lights
As the sun came down to the west, it left behind a streak of orange on the horizon. I drove west to a park and make a photo. The idea was to constrasting the artificial lights of the traffic with the natural lights from the sun.
The Cathedral from the Park
Even though I was being bitten alive by mosquitos, I had to make another photo of the cathedral. I can't wait until it's cold enough so there will be no bugs outside.
North Phillips Avenue
I started driving to a different park and eventually came to the Falls Park. Instead of making another photo of the falls, I walked to the southwest side of the park, towards North Phillips Avenue. It was a cloudy day, so no majestic sunset.
Falls Colors Are Coming
This week started colder but it became warmer as if summer had come back. I am not complaining. Besides that, the leaves have changed colors. We can't turn back time, so enjoy what we have now.
Dodge Challenger R/T
A modern muscle car.
Ford GT Is Loud
This is another from coffee and car event. A few guys had a ride on it.
Acura NSX on the Move
Start the morning with Car and Coffee. There were quite a few cars showed up, including a few super cars. This Acura NSX was borrowed from the dealership and is for sale.
Old Courthouse Museum in Black and White
This was part of the process of making a photo. I was looking for a composition but didn't like the lighting condition. The sky in the background was quite bland. In black and white, the structure stands out more in contrast with the bright background.
Phillips Avenue and 11th Street
Another excursion around the downtown area. I wasn't really motivated to make photos today but brought myself to go out anyway.
Saint Joseph Cathedral
It was getting late but I thought the light was still good to make one more photo. The cathedral is located in the historic distric in Sioux Falls, not far from downtown.
Old Courthouse Museum at Dusk
I went out for an outing downtown and was looking for a location that I haven't been to recently. I walked around looking for a composition or two.
The 10th Street Bridge
I had a long lens with me on a crop sensor. I was able to get a closer look at the 10th street bridge that passes series of rail road tracks and the Big Sioux River.
Interstate 229 and 26th Street
I have been visualizing this photo for awhile. After driving around downtown, I finally decided to pull the trigger. The sky was not ideal. The clouds covered the sky all day today; no majestic sunset today.
Phillips Ave and 10th Street
Another scene from downtown. It's the other side of the parking building. I might go try to find a different vantage point on top of the other parking structures.
Main Ave and 10th Street
I went downtown to make photos. I don't spend a lot of time downtown but I think it's about to change.
Snakes on the Plain
Besides the Corvettes and people, you could also find snakes.
Smile and Wave, Girls
Small children also took an active part in the festival.
The Street Sweeper Brigade
Before the main part of the parade begins, the street was deemed not clean enough. So, the street sweepers made their pass through.
More Dancing in the Street
The parade involved a lot of people, young and old, big and small. I don't know if the high schoolers get extra credit to participate in the festival or not. They looked like they were having a good time.
Fun on Antique Two Wheels
It's friendlier to the environment and looks cool.
