Sitting, Pondering at the Falls
I came back to the park to make a specific photo that I saw in the previous photo I made. The conditions were not the same and the result is not as good as I visualized in my head. I also did make other photos, like this one.
Calmer Water Downstream
This is another scene from the Christmas lights at the park. It was not that late, but it was too dark to make more photos. It was past the blue hour or twilight. I made one last photo before calling it the night. I was cold and hungry; time to go home and eat supper.
Christmas Lights Are Back
I didn't expect to see them on this early. I drove to the park to make some more photos. The twilight didn't last long this time of year. I could only make a few photos before it got too dark. Tomorrow might bring something different.
One Cold Evening at Falls Overlook Cafe
The cafe is closed for the season, but they still host private events by appointment. It was a cold evening, considering it was relatively warm throughout the day. I blamed the wind. It robbed our warmth away. There were only a few people at the park. I still enjoyed the view and I hope you do too.
The Heart of Downtown from the Park
I keep looking for different photos of places I visited previously. Falls Park is one of those places. The falls is probably the most common subject of the park, so I tried to stay away from that. The colors of the evening were just so great to make some photos.
The Swooped In CLouds
It was a warm fall day. It was nice enough to be comfortable outside without had to bundle up. I did my walk after work, went to the park while the sun was setting. There was no specific photo I wanted to make, but I knew it had to capture the color of the sky. It was a nice evening indeed.
Falls Park Panorama
A different day, a different visit to the Falls Park and made another photo. This time it is a super wide panorama. My thought is to make it a triptych print set.
Dusk at Falls Park
I tried another attempt to go to Falls Park and make photos. I was taking the advantage of the cloud cover. Initially, I thought it would be a black and white photo, but in colors, it doesn't look too bad.
Between the Cathedral and the Old Courthouse Museum
I went to the Falls Park again and underestimated the number of people who had the same idea. So much for the idea of making another photo in Falls Park.
Falls Overlook Cafe
The storm system gave a bit more rain earlier. It was darker because of the cloud cover, but it didn't last long. The day got brighter before the sun finally set.
The Water Falls Through It
Before it reached the main waterfalls, the river water had to go through series of mini falls.
Windy Day at the Falls
My intention was to make a long exposure photo to get the streaking clouds. The clouds were less intense compared to earlier that day. It was quite windy.
After the Spring Showers
It took an hour at the park to make this one photo. Most of it was spent waiting for people to be out of the shot.
People Do Enjoy the Park
There were quite a few people came to the Falls Park this evening. Most of them made photos with either a phone or an actual camera. It was a nice day to be outside and people appreciated it.
Can I Have More?
The nice weather days after some cold days are always appreciated. I am looking forward to more days like this.
Queen Bee Turbine House
An old remnant of the old mill which used to be around back in the Dakota Territory days.
Golden Evening at Falls Park
I was searching for a different type of photos of the Falls Park than the ones I have or is already overdone.
Falls Park in Early Spring
It's greener than when I visited the park last. It's definitely warmer. It would be harder to stay inside and work now.
Here For the Lights and Sunset
Every year the Falls Park is decorated with lights. There were not much snow on the ground, but don't be mistaken, it was still really cold. The strong wind made it even colder. I always like the park all year round, especially with the cold weather.
It's Cold Even Before the Winter Starts
Even when it is freezing outside, your friends and family will keep you warm, even when they are thousands of miles away. May they are close in your heart and the memories bring you joy.
In the Moment, Frozen in Time
We all had the second half of the day off at work. I took the opportunity to go to the park, again. It was a cloudy, overcast weather, and just a bit above the freezing temperature.
