Orange City's Tulip Festival

We went to the 77th annual festival. It was a cold one. Fortunately, it didn't rain.

More Dancing in the Street

The parade involved a lot of people, young and old, big and small. I don't know if the high schoolers get extra credit to participate in the festival or not. They looked like they were having a good time.

There were a few marching bands in the parade.

It was fun to see the variety of costumes from the various province of the Netherlands.

The Street Sweeper Brigade

Before the main part of the parade begins, the street was deemed not clean enough. So, the street sweepers made their pass through.

Queen and Court Float

Along with the festival, there's also a pageant. The queen and court are crowned to be the ambassador for the Tulip Festival.

Wherever you are in the world, we have our freedom - some have more than the others, most likely because of sacrifices of some group of people. They might have been military heroes or might be as close as your parents.
