Day 194: Flight Path Intersection. I made the longest star trail photo so far. It consists of 500 stacked photos and took about 4 and a half hours to make, not including stacking the photos. I was hoping to capture some of the Perseid meteor shower, but got two planes in flight instead.
Day 192: Urban Star Trail. I had another opportunity to make another star trail photo. I was planning either to produce a still photograph or a time lapse video or both. Other than the stars, there were not a lot of movements; so I don't think it will make a good time lapse. I had problems understanding Nikon built-in intervalometer; the series got interrupted multiple times since the camera stopped before the set intervals are done. In the end, both the battery pack on the grip and the internal one ran out of juice around 4 am. I will attempt to make more. I am still not happy with the result.
Day 191: Moon Walk. After the experience making a star trail photo, I ventured to try a different twist: the moon. Since a moon trail would be just a thick white line on the sky, I try to make a moon walk photo. It is actually similar to a star trail but with a longer interval between frames. I am currently in the process of making another star trail photo or a time lapse video overnight. I wonder if the battery will last until the morning.
